Manipur Deputy CM Holds Marathon Talk With FNCC, JTC

SENAPATI: A day after meeting Thadou community at Motbung in Kan on Saturday, Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho wasted no time to reach out to different Naga organizations to break the ongoing embargo where the total closure of Kangpokpi to Churachandpur alternate road is going on for weeks. 

The deputy CM invited and met Foothills Nagas Coordinating Committee (FNCC) and Joint Tribes Council (JTC) leaders on Sunday noon at his Lamphel residence in the presence of senior BJP leader Lungphakbou Newmai.

The initiative comes in a continued effort of the newly installed popular government in the state to resolve the ongoing issues, to bring normalcy and understanding among different communities. 

According to sources, the FNCC & JTC held talks for over two and half hours and deliberated on the demands and negligence of their demands by the Government of Manipur till today. The deputy CM assured to look into the matter on priority basis. Dikho also held a meeting with CM Y Khemchand and Home Commissioner Ashok Kumar later in the evening.

Sources added that, Deputy CM is likely to break the ice and resolve the matter in a few days time. FNCC had earlier reaffirmed its MoU and demands placed before the Government of Manipur and MHA.

During the marathon talk, Losii Dikho duly acknowledged the demands of Foothills Nagas & JTC and appealed to the organizations to collectively support the initiatives of the state government to bring peace and normalcy in Manipur.
