Manipur DGP LM Khaute to retire today

Imphal: The Director General of Police of Manipur LM Khaute (IPS) is all set to voluntarily retire as the DGP of Manipur Police on December 10.

An order by Government of Manipur issued on November 2 confirmed the news. The order stated, “Under rule 16(2) of the All India Service (Death-Cum Retirement Benefits) Rules, 1958, the Government of Manipur is pleased to allow L M Khaute, IPS to retire from the Indian Police Services (IPS) voluntarily with effect December 10, 2021”.

LM Khaute IPS is likely to contest the upcoming 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly polls due early next year from Churachandpur (ST) Assembly Constituency.

Sources also informed this reporter that ADGP Christopher Doungel (IPS)could be the next DGP of Manipur Police.

Senior IPS officer LM Khaute was appointed as the Director General of Police in December 2015.
