Manipur Ex. MLA Welfare Assn. Condoles death of Thangminlien Kipgen

Ukhrul: The Manipur Ex. Manipur Legislative Assembly Welfare Association has condoled the passing away of Thangminlien Kipgen, Ex. MLA on Wednesday.

The Welfare Association said that late Thangminlien Kipgen represented Kangpokpi Assembly constituencies for four consecutive terms (1995, 2000, 2002, and 2007) and also served as Cabinet Minister (Horticulture) and Chairman Hill Areas Committee.

They former Manipur Legislative Assembly passed away at the age of 71 years on December 10, 2024 at 3:45 PM noon. He left behind his loving 2 (Two) daughters, 1 daughter-in-law and 2 (Two) grandsons.

“With the untimely demised of Lt. Thangminlien Kipgen, we have lost a wonderful friend, a noble, a humanist, and a politician, and we cannot fill the void left by such a dedicated and distinguished person,” the condolence message said.

B. D. Behring, President of the Ex. MLA’s Welfare Association said that, he, on behalf of the Association extends their heartfelt condolences to the family members of their late friend Thangminlien Kipgen at this time of sadness and sorrow.

“May Almighty God grant them the strength to bear the irreparable loss of Late Thangminlien Kipgen. May his soul rest in peacefully,” the condolence message said, adding that a sum of Rs. 30,000 is presented to his bereaved family from the funds of the Welfare Association.
