IMPHAL: Fuel pumps in the Manipur valley reopened this afternoon after nearly four days of closure.

In protest against the bomb attack at M/S Elidas Fuel station at Moirang Thana Leikai in Bishnupur district on January 8, the Manipur Petroleum Dealers Fraternity (MPDF) agitated since January 10.

The Manipur Petroleum Dealer’s Fraternity(MPDF) took a decision to call off its agitation following an assurance from the government of Manipur for security arrangements for the oil pumps.

The decision to call off the agitation was announced by the MPDF at a press meet held at Manipur Press Club in Imphal this afternoon.

Convenor of MPDF, Laishram Jogendra stated that the decision to call off the strike was taken after the meeting between MPDF members and the Home commissioner of the Manipur government.
