Manipur Gov issues notice on Vaccination: 20 Lakh Award for first A/C with 100% Vaccination

Opening of institutions, organizations, factories, shops, markets, private offices etc. where its employees and workers are Covid Vaccinated - applicable to NREGA job card holders and workers of government/private projects.

In follow up to the “Curfew” orders dated June 11, on imposing restrictions of activities to only few essential services in the seven districts of Manipur namely, Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Churachandpur and Ukhrul which expires today, a notice to this effect was issued by the Home Department, Government of Manipur on Wednesday.

The notice informed that the State Government will be relaxing curfew and containment measures in future in a calibrated manner by assessing the Covid infection scenario without compromising public health safety it said. It further added that “opening of institutions, organizations, factories, shops, markets, private offices etc. where its employees and workers are Covid Vaccinated.” This, the order said is applicable to NREGA job card holders and workers of government/private projects.

The notice issued by Home Department is given to all persons to get vaccinated at the earliest. Anyone above 18 years can walk-in and be vaccinated.

State government said it would be ready to arrange special vaccine session 150 or more beneficiaries. “District Deputy Commissioner or State Mission Director (NHM) could be reached for such special session,” it said.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister N Biren Singh announced a reward worth Rs 20 lakh for the first assembly constituency in Manipur with 100% vaccination.

“With Prime Minister Modi ji’s resolve to vaccinate everyone at the earliest, we have initiated measures like Hon’ MLAs taking up responsibility to vaccinate people at constituency level. Today, I’m announcing a reward of Rs 20 lakh for the first constituency to be fully vaccinated,” wrote the Chief Minister.  

MLA Rajkumar Imo of Sagolband Assembly constituency, earlier announced similar cash rewards for localities under his constituency. He took to twitter, “Am announcing vaccination reward/prize of Rs 50,000; Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 for the top three polling/localities which has the best vaccination ratio by the end of August. Thank the Health Department and Imphal West DC for coordinating and making it possible.”
