Manipur Governor Allocates Portfolios to Ministers

Ukhrul, March 4, 2026: The Governor of Manipur, acting on the advice of Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh, has allocated portfolios to the state’s ministers in accordance with Rule 6(1) of the Rules of Business of the Government of Manipur. The Government of Manipur Secretariat issued the official notification today.

According to the notification, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh will oversee any department that has not been specifically assigned to other ministers.

Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen will hold portfolios for the Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Department and the Tribal Affairs & Hills Department. Meanwhile, the other Deputy Chief Minister, Losii Dikho, will manage the Public Health Engineering Department, the Climate Change Department, and the Forest and Environment Department.

Ministers Konthoujam Govindas Singh and Khuraijam Loken Singh have been assigned the Home Department and the Youth Affairs & Sports Department, as well as the Arts & Culture Department and the Tourism Department, respectively.

The notification was signed by Dr. Puneet Kumar Goel, Chief Secretary of the Government of Manipur, and was distributed to the relevant officials and departments for implementation.
