Manipur Govt Announces 10 Days Total Curfew From July 18 Amid Wide Prevalence Of Delta Variant

The Manipur government on Thursday announced a total curfew of 10 days from July 18 in view of the wide prevalence of Delta Variant of COVID-19 in the state and considering the need of taking up stringent measures to break the chain of transmission.

Only essential services related to vaccination, Covid-19 testing, medical services, water supply, power supply, telecom or internet services, air travel and agricultural activities will be allowed during the curfew period, stated a public notice issued by principal secretary (health), Government of Manipur, V Vumlunmang.

Formal orders will be issued separately, and all are requested to cooperate in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic, it further stated.

Meanwhile, the state health services teams have been conducting house-to-house COVID-19 testing in several parts of the state since July 11 in the effort to contain the spread of the disease.

Total curfew will end on July 27.

Meanwhile, Ukhrul reported 5 positive case on Thursday taking the total active case to 63.
