Manipur Guv briefs President Droupadi Murmu on prevailing conflict

Imphal: Governor of Manipur, Anusuiya Uikey has apprisedĀ  President of India, Droupadi Murmu today in New Delhi about the prevailing situation in Manipur consequent upon the aftermath of clashes erupted between two communities.Ā

According to a Raj Bhavan statement, the Governor briefed the President about various incidents which have taken place in the state and detail discussions were held to improve the situation and bring back normalcy and peace in the State.

The Governor also apprised the President about her visits to various relief camps in Imphal, Churachandpur and Bishnupur districts and interaction with the violence affected people. She also informed the  President about the steps taken up by the Centre and the State Government for providing relief materials to the displaced people which are taking shelter in relief camps in different districts.

Ā Issues relating to resettlement/rehabilitation of violence affected people and education of students were also discussed in the meeting, the Raj Bhavan statement added.
