Manipur logs 404 fresh COVID-19 cases, three deaths

Manipur recorded 404 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Saturday after 2,230 samples were tested. The test positivity rate is18.1%.

With three more patients succumbing to COVID-19 positive in the last 24 hours, the fatality toll rose to 2,022 while the total case tally now stood at 1,29,661.

One death each reported in Imphal East, Imphal West and Chandel districts. Two of the three deceased were vaccinated with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine while all of them had comorbidities, the state Health department said.

Meanwhile, the number of active cases in the state rose to 3,139 as 122 patients was discharged upon recovery opposed to the 404 fresh cases.

The recovery tally of the state stood at 1,24,500 while the recovery rate further dropped to 96.02%.

Of the 404 fresh cases, 12 were personnel of Central security forces.

Imphal West continued to detect the maximum number of 143 fresh cases, followed by Imphal East with 94 cases.

Other districts reporting high numbers of fresh cases were Kangpokpi (63), Churachandpur (35), Kakching (17), Bishnupur (15) and Thoubal (15).

The remaining districts reported below 10-mark with zero cases in Noney and Pherzawl districts.
