Manipur logs nine new COVID-19 cases

Imphal: Nine fresh cases of COVID-19 reported in the last 24 hours took Manipur’s infection count of the disease to 1,37,306 on Monday.

The fatality toll, however, remained unchanged at 2,120 as no death link to the virus was reported on the day.

The latest bulletin of the state Health department said that nine people –eight in Imphal West and one in Thoubal district –were confirmed as new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

A total of 155 samples were tested in the last 24 hours and the test positivity rate of the day was 5.8%, it said.

Three patients discharged upon recovery on the day took the recovery count of the state to 1,35,137 and the recovery rate stood at 98.42%.

The active caseload of the state increased to 49.
Meanwhile, only 128 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 on Sunday to take the cumulative doses of the vaccine administered in the state till date to 29,65,695.

The total included 15,93,637 first dose and 12,59,603 second dose. As many as 1,12,455 people have also received the precautionary dose of the vaccine, the Health department said.
