Manipur Police Seize Large Quantities of SP and WY Tablets; Three Arrested

Ukhrul: The Manipur Police said it arrested three individuals and seized a large quantity of suspected drugs in separate operations conducted on December 21, 2024, in the state’s Senapati and Kakching districts.

Police said it intercepted a four-wheeler on NH-2 near Hengbung village in Senapati District. During the search, they recovered suspected SP (Sampex+) tablets, amounting to 2,700 strips (each strip containing 90 capsules), totaling an estimated 21,600 capsules. According to police report, the arrested persons are identified as Md. Akber Khan (37) and Md. Abdul Rahman (36).

The following items were seized from their possession: SP capsules (30 boxes containing 720 capsules each), one four-wheeler, four mobile phones, aadhaar card and a PAN card, cash amounting to Rs. 7,360.

Meanwhile, in another operation at Kuroupokpi in Kakching District, police reported it intercepted a vehicle coming from Moreh. Upon inspection, officers discovered approximately 13.942 kg of suspected WY (World is Yours) tablets. Police said a suspect was arrested identified as, Md. Abdur Rehaman (40) of Sora Awang Ching Wangma, Kakching, adding that investigation are underway.
