151 fresh COVID-19 cases in Manipur, no death in the past 24 hours

Manipur recorded 151 fresh cases of COVID-19 in a span of 24 hours, taking the overall infection tally in the state to 26,685.

COVID-19 Common Control Room, in its daily update report, stated that there was no death due to the viral infection in the last 24 hours. So, the death tally stands at 318 till date.

Meanwhile, the fresh cases of the disease included 35 personnel from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).

The new positive cases from the general population included 41 from Imphal West, 32 from Imphal East, 13 from Bishnupur, eight from Thoubal, seven from Churachandpur, six from Ukhrul, three from Tengnoupal, two each from Senapati and Jiribam and one each from Chandel and Kangpokpi.

All the fresh cases were categorised as locally transmitted cases as they have no significant travel history in the recent time, the control room stated.

A total of 96 patients were discharged over the last 24 hours after they recovered from the respiratory infection. The recoveries included 63 in home isolation.

The overall number of people diagnosed with the COVID-19 tally stood at 26,685 on Thursday. The tally included 23,397 including 2,926 CAPF recoveries.

The active cases stood at 2,970 who are being treated at various Covid care centres across the state.  The recovery rate of the state was 87.67%, as per the control room.
