Manipur registered only two fresh cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, taking the total number persons exposed to the new coronavirus in the state to 29,225.
This one-day spike of two cases of the disease is the lowest single-day spike in the state since July when the local transmission started in the state.
The tally included 28,769 recoveries, as per the daily update report of the state Health department.
The state has currently 83 active cases, out of which 11 were Central security personnel.
The two fresh cases diagnosed with the new coronavirus were one each from Imphal West and Kakching districts.
Their exposure to COVID-19 was detected during testing of 1,424 samples. A total of 5,38,938 samples have been tested for the viral disease in the state till today.
With 10 patients discharged after recovering, only 83 active cases are there in the state. Of these, 11 were Central security personnel.
The recovery rate of the state stood at 98.43%.
As there was no report of death due to the pandemic today for the 11 consecutive days, COVID-19 fatality tally of the state stood at 373.
On the other hand, 3082 people were vaccinated in the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination drive, taking the total number of people inoculated till today to 35,733 on Thursday.
The COVID-19 beneficiaries included 27,587 healthcare workers who were the beneficiaries of the first phase of vaccination drive, commenced on January 16.
