Manipur reports 14 more death cases related to Covid-19 cases

Manipur’s COVID-19 caseload has reached 52,278 with 729 more infections reported on Wednesday. The death toll also reached 839 with 14 more patients succumbing to the virus related health complications in the past 24 hours.

The Health department said 728 persons from the general population and one personnel from the Central security force were confirmed as new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.

The positive cases from the general population were 311 from Imphal West, 108 from Imphal East, 79 from Thoubal, 52 from Bishnupur, 26 from Kakching, six from Ukhrul, 93 from Churachandpur, four from Chandel, 10 from Senapati, 20 from Tamenglong, four from Kangpokpi, seven from Noney and eight from Jiribam.

In the past 24 hours, 14 persons died due to COVID-29 related health complications. Among them five were from Imphal West, two each from Imphal East, Churachandpur and Kakching and one each from Bishnupur, Tengnoupal and Ukhrul districts.

The fresh 729 cases were detected during testing of 6,522 samples in the past 24 hours, taking the cumulative number of samples tested so far in the state to 7,30,078.

The daily positive rate was 11.18% which is less than the previous day’s 13.95%.
