Manipur reports 18 fresh Covid cases in one day

The new cases were reported from Imphal West (8), Imphal East (6), Kangpokpi (2), Churachandpur (1) and Jiribam (1).

Eighteen fresh cases of COVID-19 recorded in 24 hours took Manipur’s COVID-19 infection tally to 29,514 on Monday, even as the fatality tally remained at 376 with no death due to the viral disease reported during the same period.

State Health department, in its daily update report, said that 18 persons including four air passengers were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases in the state in the past 24 hours (till 4pm of April 12).
The new cases were reported from Imphal West (8), Imphal East (6), Kangpokpi (2), Churachandpur (1) and Jiribam (1).

The fatality tally remained at 376 as there was no report of death due to the viral disease in the past 24 hours, the report said.

With the discharge of six patients during the same period, the recovery tally of the state rose to 29,035. The recovery rate of the state stood at 98.37%.

There are 103 active cases in the state, out of which 13 were CAPF personnel.

Meanwhile, the total number of people who received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in the state rose to 94,566 as 1618 people were inoculated on Sunday.

The total vaccine recipients included 31,976 healthcare workers, the Health department added.
