Manipur Police Nab Six AT Members Linked to Attack on Cops During June 9 Bandh

Imphal, July 9: Manipur Police have arrested six members of the Arambai Tenggol group in connection with a physical assault on police personnel during a bandh that took place in Bishnupur district on June 9, 2025.

The arrests were made on July 8 as part of an ongoing investigation into the incident, which involved the targeted attack on an officer and police personnel who were on duty during the bandh.

The six arrested individuals have been identified as:

  1. Laishram Sanahal Singh alias Sana (26), Govindagram Awang Leikai, Imphal West
  2. Laishram Rishikanta Singh (20), Govindagram Awang Leikai, Imphal West
  3. Laishram Premchand alias Kandrang (18), Govindagram Awang Leikai, Imphal West
  4. Kangabam Nongdamba Singh (23), Terakhongsangbi Ward No. 2, Bishnupur
  5. Sarangthem Rabichandra alias Rabi (28), Kangmong Maisnam Leikai, Imphal West
  6. Yumnam Jaswant Singh (22), Lourembam Maning Leikai, Bishnupur

Manipur Police said the accused were involved in the assault on the police team during the bandh, and further investigation is underway to identify others involved and to establish the full sequence of events.
