UKHRUL: The Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences (Dubai) has officially announced the recipients of the Arab Award for Research in Healthcare (2025).
Among this year’s awardees is Dr. Zenith Khashim, originally from Manipur and currently based at the Mayo Clinic, USA.
Dr. Khashim, along with co-awardees Dr. Fatmah R. Alsereidi (University of Sharjah, UAE), Dr. Quinn P. Peterson (Mayo Clinic, USA), Dr. Mohamed A. Saleh (University of Sharjah, UAE), and eight other collaborators from the UAE, USA, and Egypt, has been recognized for groundbreaking work on dapagliflozin and cellular stress pathways.

Dr. Zenith Khashim is a Tangkhul Naga from Manipur and currently serves as a Scientist at the Mayo Clinic, Department of Biomedical Engineering and Regenerative Medicine, Rochester, MN, USA. Her expertise spans stem cells, diabetes, transplantation, and immunology. Her achievement reflects the growing global impact of scientists from the Northeast region of India.
The award carries a prize of 200,000 AED, and the official ceremony will take place on 29 January 2026 in Dubai.
