Manipur: seven active Covid cases

Imphal: The total number of COVID-19 active cases in Manipur has further declined to seven on Saturday as three patients were discharged against one fresh case reported on the day.

According to the latest COVID-19 status reports of the state health department, one fresh case was detected upon testing of 155 samples across the testing facilities across the state in the last 24 hours.

The test positivity rate was 0.6%.

The lone fresh case reported in Tengnoupal district took the infection tally of the state to 1,39,812 while the three latest discharges took the recovery tally to 1,37,657.

The recovery rate stood at 98.46%.

The COVID-19 fatality toll of the state remained unchanged at 2,148 as no death link to the disease was reported on the day for the 27th consecutive day. No death due to the disease has been reported in the state since September 4 last.

Including the 155 samples tested in the last 24 hours, as many as 16,56,129 swab samples have been tested for the virus in the state so far.
Meanwhile, the total doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in the state touched 32,37,262 with 548 more people taking the jab on Friday. In the state, as many as 16,43,874 have jabbed with the first dose of the vaccine so far. This is 62.44% of the total eligible population of the state.

While the number of people who took the second dose of the vaccine touched 13,26,198, which is 54.71% of the total eligible population. Another 2,67,190 people have also received the precautionary dose of the vaccine so far, the health bulletin added.
