Manipur students’ bodies, Delhi request assistance to CM Biren on COVID crisis: Submits Joint Memorandum

In a joint memorandum submitted to CM Biren by three students’ bodies in Delhi on Thursday, the Manipur Students’ Association, Delhi (MSAD) Naga Students’ Union, Delhi (NSUD) and Kuki Students’ Organisation, Delhi and NCR (KSOD&NCR) requested for medical assistance for the citizens of Manipur in Delhi (NCR) as a result of the deadly COVID-19 second wave.

The Manipur students’ bodies working in collaboration with NGOs in Delhi owing to shortage of resources, said it cannot respond to the crisis effectively. The statement added that in order to augment the gap arising due to non-availability of oxygen and hospital beds we would like to request your esteemed authority to kindly provide the following healthcare essential as immediate response:

  1. 20-30 oxygen cylinders and others essential medical provisions to be made available in Manipur Bhavan for emergency cases.
  2. One ambulance/vehicle to be stationed at Bhavan House for emergency response.
  3. Form Emergency COVID-19 Response Team with Resident Commissioner/Deputy Resident Commissioner as Chair along leaders of various students’ organizations as its member.


    It further appealed the government to act as facilitator in reaching out to the central government and also to the respective state governments wherever the citizens of Manipur are residing to provide equal access to healthcare facilities and to provide essential medical assistance to the people facing health/medical emergencies.
