Manipur Team Shines at 22nd International Jeet Kune Do Championship in Mumbai; Bags 12 Medals

Imphal: A team of 10 participants from Manipur showcased exceptional talent at the 22nd International Sports Jeet Kune Do Championship 2024, held at Andheri Sports Complex, Mumbai. The event, which took place on June 9, 2024, saw fierce competition from athletes around the world.

Master Shimayon Ningshen was honoured with the prestigious Sanatan National Sports Award for his outstanding contributions. The Manipur team exhibited exceptional skill by winning a total of 12 medals, including 7 golds, 3 silvers, and two bronzes.

Two of the medallists were from the Tangkhul tribe. A testament to their determination, Tamreichan Khanshu won silver and Ngalengpam Raising took bronze in open Kumite.

This amazing medal haul not only demonstrates the potential of the region but also the dedication and hard work of the athletes. The achievements of Master Shimayon Ningshen and the entire team have given the community a great pride, inspiring future generations to excel in sports.
