Manipuri Actress Angobi Chanu Receives Special Mention at Thilsri International Film Festival 2024

Imphal, August 22: In a moment of pride for Manipur, actress Angobi Chanu has been honored with a Special Mention for Best Actress at the Thilsri International Film Festival 2024 for her outstanding debut performance in the film Before I Leave You Again. The film marks Angobi’s remarkable transition from a successful modeling career—where she was crowned Femina Miss India Manipur and represented the state at the national level—into the world of acting.

Before I Leave You Again, directed by Yogesh Lohan, has been widely acclaimed and brought Angobi her first acting accolade. The film also earned the award for Best Cinematography, which was given to Arjun Kukreti, and an Honourable Mention for Best Actor, awarded to Rohit Giri.

Produced by Bijou Thaangjam, Sudeep Khuraijam, and Olivia Shijagurumayum, Before I Leave You Again is a collaborative effort between Cicada Film Production and Meraalights Productions. The film’s success at the festival has added to the excitement surrounding Angobi Chanu’s promising acting career, and it stands as a testament to the growing talent in Manipur’s film industry.
