The documentary explores the historic and continuing resistance of the Meira Paibi, tracing how ordinary women came together to protect their communities and emerged as a collective force of resistance.
Produced by Deepika Gurumayum, Meira marks Johnson Rajkumar’s second documentary engagement with the Meira Paibi movement. His earlier documentary, Fireflies, which also explored the movement, received critical acclaim and was selected for several international film festivals.
