Meiraba Luwang of Manipur defeated France’s Alex Lanier at the qualifier of Yonex Lativa International Future Series Badminton Tournament 2021 being held in Jelgava on Sunday.

Meiraba’s senior journey started with International Gold.

Meiraba Luwang clinched the title in his first ever Senior International Tournament defeated France’s Alex Lanier in the summit clash 21-15,12-21, 22-20.

N. Shyamkumar Singh, Secretary, Manipur Badminton Association, Imphal in a statement said that, Meiraba’s performance will give the moral support to our all players. He was the Under 13, 15, 17, 19 India no. 1 player and Junior world no. 2. He will participate at Ukraine International 2021 from September 7, 2021 at Kharkiv.

Manipur Badminton Association congratulating Meiraba Luwang for his great performance, wished him the very best for his next tournament.

“This is a very proud moment for our State and Country”, added Shyamkumar.
