Imphal: Manushi Chhillar, Miss World 2017, stunned as she walked the ramp at the Manipur Fashion Extravaganza 2022 (MFE) in Imphal on Sunday evening.
During her maiden visit in Manipur, the actor-model Chhillar dazzled the famed runway as she donned ace fashion designer Robert Naorem’s outfit as a showstopper at the grand finale at Imphal Hotel.
Other celebrities who walked the ramp include Miss India World 2021 Manasa Varanasi, famed Manipuri actresses Bala Hijam, Soma Laishram and Biju Ningombam among others.
The MFE 2022 was organised with an to showcase fashion rooted in the traditional craft of handloom and jewellery making industry in Manipur as well as to celebrate the dedication, spirt and versatility of craftsmanship of the state.

Speaking to media persons, the Sampat Prithviraj star said that she is happy to be part of the show which is not just the fashion event but it is also to recognise and celebrate the efforts and dedication of the women weavers of the state.
“In today’s age, we try to encourage women entrepreneurs and more women in the workforce which has actually gone down in India. It is great that in Manipur, weavers are all women,” said Chhillar.
She also mentioned that featuring differently-abled community in the show for inclusive and accessible Robert Naorem brand is very encouraging.

According to Robert Naorem, the Manipur Fashion Extravaganza 2022 organised by the Robert Naorem Studio is rooted in the belief of spreading a message, creating an awareness and most of all inspiring the youth to celebrate local culture and craftsmanship of the state.
During the event, skilled weavers of the industry were also felicitated. Moreover, as part of the Pink Ribbon Campaign on cancer awareness, the American Oncology Institute (AOI) launched a cancer detection brassiere which aim to save more lives.

“We believe the causes we have endorsed today will play a major role in helping to raise awareness of important issues at an early stage of people’s lives, helping directly and indirectly to shape our society and to make a positive contribution towards a better future,” informed designer Naorem.
The mega fashion event also showcased the collections and designs of the upcoming fashion designer Arbin Tonjam, state jewellery brands Radhamani Jewellery and Muhindro Radhamani.
Minister for textile commerce and industry Nemcha Kipgen, Indian Fashion Awards founder Sanjay Nigam and North East Institute of Fashion Technology founder Vikram Rai Medhi were among the dignitaries who attended the fashion event.
