Amid increase in number of Covid positive infection, mass vaccination drive began at constituency level across the state in a bid to control the dreaded virus.
In a series of tweets made on Saturday, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said that mass vaccination drive was held at constituency level across the state. “House to house testing of COVID-19 has also started at Imphal West on today. Similar exercise will be taken up in other districts as well.”
In another tweet, he said that ‘Indian SARS-COV-2 Genomics Consortium facility’ at the IBSD, Imphal was also inaugurated today through video conferencing.
For the first time in this part of the country, testing/monitoring of SARS-COV-2 samples from all the Northeast States can be done in this facility in Imphal, he added.
It may be pointed out that Chief Minister N Biren Singh has announced on Friday that every household in the State would be tested for Covid-19.
Meanwhile, Ukhrul reported eight fresh COVID-19 positive cases on Saturday, taking the total active case to 55.
According to District Surveillance Officer Ukhrul, cumulative positive stands at 761 with 458 males and 303 females. While five patients were discharge today.
Out of 55 total active cases, eight are at district hospital isolation ward, 31 at transit covid care centre, five at Phalee community isolation centre, 9 at Ukhrul higher secondary school CHIC, and 2 at Jessami community isolation centre. While cumulative deaths remain at 22, as per DSO Ukhrul.
Manipur reported 788 new positive cases and 7 deaths in the last 24 hours.
