Shillong, July 22: It is a tale of ambition and achievement, as Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma personally visited Japan to meet a group of extraordinary nurses from his state who have embarked on a life-changing journey.

These nurses, now thriving in Kobe, Japan, are a testament to the transformative power of opportunity and determination, driven by the visionary initiatives of the Government of Meghalaya.

The story began in May 2023, when the government organized a groundbreaking job fair in Shillong, aimed at connecting Meghalaya’s talented nurses with global opportunities. Over 1,300 nurses attended, eager to showcase their skills. Through strategic partnerships with international HR companies, the initiative bore fruit: 27 nurses secured prestigious placements in Japan, with another 18 finding opportunities in Singapore.
