Meghalaya: voters face alleged threats

Shillong: A complaint has been filed against an alleged attempt to threaten voters of a village in the East Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya.

The chief electoral officer (CEO) FR Kharkongor told reporters that a person has filed a complaint on the matter on Wednesday.

The resident of Moolang village in East Jaintia Hills has alleged that there has been a threat against voters of the villages under the Rymbai polling station in Khliehriat constituency.

“The complaint was basically lodged at the office of the district election officer (DEO), East Jaintia Hills,” Kharkongor said.

He then assured that the matter will be taken up during a video conference with the deputy commissioners of all the districts on Friday.
