Mini marathon ‘Run Chandel Run’ Promoting Peace and Unity concluded

Chandel: In a spectacular showcase of unity and peace, the 3rd edition of Run Chandel Run (Chandel Mini Marathon) unfolded in Chandel.

Organized collaboratively by 21 Assam Rifles, District Sports Association Chandel, Wisecrabs, and Royal Riders Chandel, supported by various entities including District Administration Chandel, Chandel Police, and more, the marathon brought together 216 participants for the Open Category (10 Km) and a record-breaking 423 runners for the Under 16 & Above 40 years categories.

The marathon, flagged off by Brigadier Vedpal Yadav, DIG 26 Sector Assam Rifles, traversed through Chandel district, receiving enthusiastic cheers from villagers along the way.

Ambulances provided ensured medical support for the runners. The race concluded at Maha Union Government Higher Secondary School, Japhou.

The closing ceremony featured captivating dance performances by students and cultural acts by Japhou Youth Club members. Ms WL Thaniwar performed the official Run Chandel Run Anthem, and the Jazz & Pipe band of Assam Rifles entertained the crowd.

Medals, certificates, and cash prizes were awarded by Brigadier Vedpal Yadav, with special recognition for Maximum Participation going to JNV Chandel & Japhou village. Colonel Abhimanyu Singh CO 21 AR concluded the event with a heartfelt vote of thanks.
