Union MoS Tokhan Sahu Reviews Urban Schemes, Welfare Projects in Manipur’s Kakching

IMPHAL: Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu concluded his two-day visit to Manipur on Sunday.

On the second day of his visit to the state, Tokhan Sahu inspected houses constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban (PMAY-U) at Ward Number 7 under the Kakching Municipal Council. He also visited Salam Project Pukhri Achouba, rejuvenated under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0.

Afterwards, the Union minister interacted with members of Self Help Group (SHG) under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY NULM) near Leibaklei Gas and inspected the Moramba Solid Waste Management SBM site at the Kakching Moramba under the Kakching Municipal Council (KMC).

Following this, Tokhan Sahu also inspected the Kakching District Hospital and visited stalls set up by Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex, where crochet dolls and sanitary pads made by the IDPs were displayed.

Tree saplings were planted at the DC Office Complex by Tokhan Sahu along with Deputy Commissioner Uppuluri Chaitanya (IAS), DC Kakching and Priyadarshini Laishram (IPS), SP Kakching along with the Kakching Forest officials.

On Saturday evening, Tokhan Sahu was accorded a warm welcome by the district administration of Kakching led by Deputy Commissioner Uppuluri Chaitanya, along with Priyadarshini Laishram, upon his arrival at the Kakching Mini Secretariat.

The Union minister was accompanied by the Kakching MLA  Mayanglambam Rameshwar Singh, along with his staff.

The Union minister then interacted with the District Level Officers and reviewed flagship programmes implemented by the various Government departments. Urging the officers to implement the flagship programs sincerely, he said all suggestions are welcomed from the officers and that he is ready to help them for the growth and development in the district.

He further gave his assurance to all that the government is committed and working towards the overall development of the state.
