Missing man from Chandel remains untraced even after 10 days of search

A person who went missing on December 6th in Chandel district remain untraced even after hectic search for 10 days.

M Tongkhosei Zou, alias, Seiboi S/o Zamkhothang Zou of Haika (H) Kathuong village, Chakpikarong sub-division, Chandel district Manipur failed to reach home while returning from Jhum field. Since then his whereabouts remain unknown.

On December 13th, KANA area CSOs held a meeting after the family members failed to trace the man, and resolved to launch a massive search operation for the missing Tongkhosei Zou. Youths, volunteers and villagers numbering around 200 from Kathuong and surrounding villages had launched a massive search from December 14 onwards.

On December 15, one of the search teams found wallet, I-card and Adhaar card from a place not far from Chamol army camp. The person who spotted the personal items is said to be one Bengjamin Khupvangsang, alias, Benzy Zou of Kathuong village. Mass search have been launched in the said area which led to recovery of shirt, sandal and half pants, believed to be that of M Tongkhosei Zou from a gorge on Wednesday.

However the whereabouts of the missing man is still uncertain with search currently underway.
