Agartala: Mizoram’s financial health received a major boost as the state government disbursed Rs. 900 crore at the close of the financial year—an 80% jump from last year’s Rs. 500 crore. Chief Minister Lalduhoma and Finance Minister Lalduhoma’s wife, accompanied by senior finance officials, ensured the smooth execution of payments at the Aizawl Treasury Offices on Sunday.

The disbursement covered key financial obligations, including pension payments, General Provident Fund (GPF) contributions, and medical bill clearances, ensuring that no dues were left pending. Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Lalduhoma expressed his appreciation for the Finance Department’s meticulous handling of the process.

“As the financial year comes to an end, I am deeply grateful for the dedication of our Finance Department and Treasury staff, who have ensured that all payments are made on time and in full, this increase in disbursement highlights our improved financial management and stability,” he said.

Finance Commissioner Vanlaldina Fanai and Finance Secretary Ramchuana were also present, along with other officials, to oversee the final transactions. The Chief Minister noted that this year’s higher disbursement indicates better financial planning and resource allocation by the government.

The final and exact expenditure figures will be confirmed soon, but officials have stated that the Rs. 900 crore disbursed successfully covered all outstanding liabilities. With a clean financial slate, the government is now preparing its budgetary plans for the new fiscal year, aiming to sustain this momentum in economic management.
