UKHRUL: The Northeast Frontier Railway has cleared the long-pending Silchar–Sairang rail line via Bairabi, with a virtual inauguration planned by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Chief Minister Lalduhoma after the Parliament session.

NFR also signalled in-principle approval to extend the line to Hmawngbuchhuah.
