Monsang Community Hoists Naga Flag to Welcome Th. Muivah

Chandel, October 22: The Monsang Naga community under the aegis of Sirti Upa Ruh (Monsang Tribe Union), Sirti Sanuw Ruh (Monsang Women Union), Sirti Thiimjiitam Sourkhe (Monsang Naga Students’ Union), and Sirti Eruwng Ruh (Monsang Chiefs’ Association) hoisted the Naga National Flag on Wednesday morning at the SUR Headquarters (Ng. Mono Monsang Memorial Hall, Japhou) to welcome and in honour of Thuingaleng Muivah, Hon’ble Ato Kilonser, NSCN/GPRN, for his homecoming journey.

His homecoming journey to his native villages, Somdal, Ukhrul, and Tahamzam (Senapati) from 22nd to 29th October, after 50 years, is a historic testament symbolising his selfless life dedication to the Naga people and Naga nation, the Monsang community said.

The Monsang Naga leaders, with great honour and respect, extend their heartfelt welcome to Ato Kilonser.

Upa Ng. Benithan, President, SUR, spoke on the reason why the Naga National Flag was being hoisted and prayed to Almighty God, following which Upa Ng. Gilbert, Advisor, SUR (Monsang Tribe Union), hoisted the flag. The flag hoisting was concluded with a prayer by Upa Kh. Kumar, Former Chief of Liwachangning Village.
