Chandel, October 9: The Monsang Naga Tribe on Wednesday felicitated Dr. Shongshir Warson Monsang at his residence in Japhou Village, Chandel District, for his promotion to the post of Professor. The first Professor from the Monsang community, Dr. Warson serves in the Department of Surgery and Radiology, College of Veterinary Science & A.H., Tripura.

On the occasion, the Sirti Upa Ruh (Monsang Tribe Union) extended their heartiest congratulations to Dr. Shongshir Warson Monsang on his promotion to the post of Professor. The journey from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor and to the prestigious position of Professorship requires long years of teaching experience, hard work, dedication, research, publication, and commitment, the Union said.
Getting such a prestigious position at such a young age is greatly appreciated, the Union added. He is the first Professor among the Monsang Naga community. The Monsang Naga leaders felicitated him for setting an example for all Monsang youth in academic and professional fields during his Thanksgiving and Felicitation Programme.
Professor Shongshir Warson Monsang is the son of Sh. Betin Monsang and (L) Ng. Menchim and is currently working in the Department of Surgery and Radiology, College of Veterinary Science & A.H., Tripura.

Prayer and blessings for Professor Shongshir Warson Monsang were administered by Upa Rev. K. Kumar, Pastor, Japhou Baptist Church, MNBCA. As part of the felicitation, a memento was presented to Professor Shongshir Warson Monsang by Upa Ng. Benithan, President, Sirti Upa Ruh (Monsang Tribe Union), on behalf of the Monsang leaders.
