Dimapur: The amount of cash and quantities of contraband items seized in poll bound Nagaland by authorities have reached to nearly Rs 37 crore worth now.
As part of implementing election model code of conduct in Nagaland, authorities have seized banned goods worth around Rs 33 crore and nearly Rs 3 crore in cash since the announcement of the poll date. The Election Commission of India announced the date of the poll on January 18. This means that the seizures were made in the past 24 days.

The office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Nagaland informed today that the “monetary value of the progressive seizures made by various enforcement agencies from the date of announcement till February 12 is Rs.36,99,56,169.882 (thirty six crore ninety nine lakhs fifty six thousand one hundred sixty nine rupees and eighty eight paisa).
