Imphal, Jan 14: Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) who left Moreh town in Tengnoupal district  urged Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla to take measures to send them back to the border town.

A delegation of Meetei Council Moreh (MCM) met the Governor at Raj Bhavan on Monday. They submitted a memorandum to the Governor during the meeting urging him to restore them.

The memorandum mentioned that the IDPs are staying at the relief camps and prefabricated houses in distress for a long time.

The IDPs have no other income sources, except the help provided to them by the government, and hence the fate of their children is unpredictable, it said.

It said the failure to restore the children at their native homes is akin to depriving them of their rights.
