Senapati, Dec 18: The Naga Baptist Pastors’ Forum Manipur has appealed to all to come together and rebuild Manipur where peaceful coexistence will find its place again.
In a press release, Rev. S. Graceson Thangal, Secretary, NBPFM stated that conflict is inevitable in human inter relationship but when handled and managed with integrity and dignity, it can help in building a better and stronger society, otherwise ill and selfish response to conflict can cause long-term harm and immense sufferings to one another.

The citizens of Manipur are deeply troubled by the bloody feud of the two communities that has prevailed for more than unredeemable eight months resulting in irreversible loss of precious lives and untold sufferings and pains. Its detrimental effects have directly affected all the communities in Manipur especially in areas of economy, health, education and hamper the spirit of coexistence. At the end of any conflict, all conflicting parties as well as neutral parties are not without direct or indirect loss.

No matter how high the nobility and glory one may esteem in the cause of a feud, the audacity to even desecrate religious institutions such as churches and temples, which is an abode of human soul is a disgraceful offense to human sanctity. Regrettably such acts not only reflect loss of sanity but it is an affront to the Divine God above. When such brazen acts are left to prevail, it can potentially lead to unquenchable unrest and repercussions, the release said.

On behalf of all the Naga Baptist Pastors’ Forum Manipur (NBPFM), Rev. S. Graceson Thangal, Secretary, NBPFM appeals to the two communities to cease hostility and come to peace with each other. Despite extreme unhappiness against each other, yet for caring the invaluable upcoming generations of the state, the secretary urged all to come together and rebuild Manipur where peaceful coexistence will find its place again. With a profound depth of earnestness, the secretary urged all the communities to contribute in making Manipur a peaceful and progressive state, it stated.

While the world welcomes and celebrates the coming of Lord Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, NBPFM extends their prayers and goodwill of Christmas to every individual; young and old in every home and family of Manipur state.
The forum prays to let the old painful year pass and look forward to a new, peaceful and prosperous 2024 year ahead.
