Naga Students’ Union Delhi Kicks Off 57th Annual Sports Meet

Delhi, March 13: The Naga Students’ Union Delhi (NSUD) inaugurated its 57th Annual Sports Meet on Wednesday at Kingsway Camp, North Delhi. With the theme “Beyond Boundaries: Embracing Diversity through Sports,” the event aims to foster unity and camaraderie among participants while celebrating the spirit of sportsmanship.

The four-day long sports event has eleven teams representing various backgrounds congregated under the banner of NSUD through a plethora of physical activity in games and sports, entertainment and discipline building through Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton, and track events. The event is scheduled to run until the March 16th, Saturday.

The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Eli Kevilali Yeptho, General Secretary of Sümi Kiphimi Küqhakülu Delhi, and graced by esteemed guests including Eno P.N. Khrimey IPS, Jt. CP, SPUNER and SPUWAC, Eno Wennyie Konyak Resident Commissioner Nagaland House Delhi, and other dignitaries from SPUNER and SPUWAC office and Nagaland House Delhi.

The Guest of Honor, Wennyie Konyak, highlighted the importance of fostering unity while celebrating diversity through sports. Sports Secretary of NSUD, Rikho Chakre, administered the oath to the participating athletes, setting the stage for the Chief Guest, P.N Khrimey, to officially inaugurate the Sports Meet.

Eminent personalities set the tone for the event; Kegalo Semy, Pastor of Rengma Christian Fellowship Delhi, invoked blessings, while Yaorei Horam, President of NSUD, emphasized the values of teamwork, perseverance, and respect. Gifty Shohe, Public Relation Secretary of NSUD, along with Victoria Veisanai Rk and Tensawatilit, added a musical touch to the ceremony.

With large turnout and support of approximately 1200 individuals, including participants, supporters, and well-wishers, demonstrating the widespread enthusiasm and support for the NSUD’s Annual Sports Meet, the opening day concluded with a prayer led by Thenuhu Lohe, Pastor of Chakhesang Church Delhi.
