Nagaland CineFest 2025 Scheduled Under “Celebrating Stories, Inspiring Minds”

Kohima, Feb 25: The Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), Nagaland,  in collaboration with the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) will be hosting the Nagaland CineFest 2025, themed “Celebrating Stories, Inspiring Minds,” from February 28 to March 1, 2025 at The Heritage, Old DC Bungalow in Kohima.

The festival aims to showcase a diverse range of films highlighting both local and national talent. Attendees can look forward to masterclasses, film screenings, networking opportunities, and more. Topics for the masterclasses include “The evolution of film edition: cinema to digital age,” “Why some edits feel right: the psychology of edition” and “Editing for emotions: How cuts can make audiences laugh, cry or feel suspense” by Moses Marks, a filmmaker from Singapore, “Nagaland, New Horizons” by Bendang Walling (Nagaland), and “From script to screen: Evolution of story” by Dominic Sangma (Meghalaya), a DIPR report said.

Among the movies that will be screened are Eleison (Have Mercy) by Raymond Colney (Mizoram), Chanchisoa (Expectation) by Elvachisa Sangma (Meghalaya), Paper Airplanes by Moses Marks (Singapore), The Untiring Women by Mainak Amarjeet Singh (Manipur), Andro Dreams by Meena Longjam (Manipur), and Yong by Tiakumzuk Aier (Nagaland), the report further said. 

The CineFest will also include an interactive session with upcoming local artists like Bendang Walling, LC Sekhose, Khrievilie Suohumvü, Kikru Neikha and Mr. Smile. 

To add to the gala, a vibrant festival bazaar will be organized during the CineFest with various stalls set up that will include locally sourced crafts, film-themed merchandise and food items. Visitors while immersing themselves in the cinematic experience can also explore a diverse selection of handmade treats and collectibles, the DIPR also reported.
