KOHIMA, AUG 7: The Nagaland E-Sports Society (NES), in collaboration with the Government of Nagaland, will organise the Tech & Gaming Expo (TXG) 2026 on August 28 and 29, 2026 at the NBCC Convention Hall, Kohima. The two-day event will mark the state’s first dedicated technology, gaming and innovation expo, bringing together competitive gaming, game development, technology, education, career opportunities and the creator economy on a single platform.
The expo is being organised under the theme, “Where Technology, Gaming and Culture Converge,” with the objective of positioning Nagaland as an emerging hub for gaming, technology and innovation in the Northeast. It seeks to connect esports and competitive gaming with game development, technology exhibitions, education, entrepreneurship and digital career pathways while providing young people with opportunities for industry exposure, skill development, mentorship and networking.
The organisers stated that TXG is envisioned as a multidisciplinary platform that goes beyond competitive gaming by showcasing the technologies driving the digital economy, including artificial intelligence, cloud computing and real-time graphics. The event aims to bring together students, local developers, creators, startups, industry professionals and employers, fostering collaboration and innovation within the state’s growing digital ecosystem.
The two-day programme will feature competitive gaming tournaments, technology exhibitions, learning sessions and creative performances. The competitive gaming segment will include an Inter-College Championship featuring teams from colleges across Nagaland, an Open MOBA 5v5 Tournament on Mobile Legends, and a Mini Tournament Series comprising titles such as EA Sports FC 26, Clash Royale, Tekken 8, Dirt Rally 2.0, Street Fighter 6 and Ludo King. Each of the three competition categories will carry a prize pool of Rs 1,00,000, with all matches professionally live-streamed and supported by shoutcasters and broadcast-quality production.

In addition to the tournaments, the expo will host a Game Development Showcase where local developers and students will present their projects, technology demonstrations and innovative concepts. Career discussions, panel sessions and skill development workshops led by industry experts will offer guidance on opportunities in gaming, technology and the wider digital economy.
Visitors will also have access to interactive gaming and technology demonstration zones, product showcases, an Innovation Hub, networking spaces and a Cosplay Competition featuring costume displays, stage performances and photography. Registration remains open for cosplayers, vendors and exhibitors.
The event is supported by various departments of the Government of Nagaland and institutional partners, including the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), NIELIT, YouthNet, NE8 and Nagaland Tourism.
