NEW DELHI (SHABD): Rescue operations have entered their sixth day after flash floods devastated the Nepal-Tibet border region, with the death toll reaching 788.
Rescue efforts have continued across the affected districts, with 19,895 security personnel mobilised for search, rescue and relief operations.
Electricity and communications remain disrupted in the affected areas of Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading, while many areas remain inaccessible due to damage to bridges and roads.
Health workers have also warned that essential supplies are running low, with food stocks expected to last only another day or two and cooking gas completely depleted.

Meanwhile, at the Trishuli-3A hydroelectric facility, rescuers have managed to create an opening large enough to enter and begin searching for survivors, but have so far received no response.
A joint 90-member rescue team, including a specialised search-and-rescue unit with trained dogs, is using heavy equipment and controlled blasting to widen an opening into the buried structure.
As many as 537 workers and employees remain unaccounted for at nine hydropower projects in the flood-hit districts of Rasuwa and Nuwakot. The Trishuli-3A hydropower project tunnel is among the sites being searched.
