There has been no complaint of side-effects by people who have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in Meghalaya, according to Meghalaya Health Minister, A L Hek.

“So far, not a single complaint is received of any side-effects of the vaccine which was administered to health workers across the state,” Hek said on Monday

Informing that over 700 health workers have been administered the first dose of the vaccine so far in the state, Hek said, “The second dose will be given after a period of 28 days.”

The minister informed that under the first phase, 32,000 doses will be given to 16,000 health workers. “The vaccination drive will continue till we have completed administering the vaccine to all the 16,000 health workers,” he said.

Admitting that there has been a decline in Covid cases, Hek, however, urged the citizens not to be complacent but to take care of themselves. He also informed there had been no cases of patients getting re-infected by the virus in the state.
