No COVID-19 casualty in Manipur for second consecutive days

With no report of death related to COVID-19 illness for two consecutive days, Manipur’s coronavirus casualty tally remained at 365 on Monday.

On Sunday also, there was no report of death related to the pandemic in the state.

Meanwhile, with the number of samples tested for the viral infection declined, detection of fresh COVID-19 positive cases in the state also declined.

As per the daily update report of the state health department, 33 fresh positive cases were detected during the past 24 hours (till 5pm of January 11).

The fresh cases were detected during testing of 845 samples over the last 24 hours. The total number of samples tested in the state so far reached 4,90,599 on Monday.

The fresh cases included seven personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). 

Six of the 26 fresh cases among the general populace were from Imphal West district, seven from Imphal East, four from Kakching district, six from Tamenglong district and one each from Bishnupur and Ukhrul district, a release of the COVID-19 Common Control Room of the state government stated.

In the last 24 hours, there was no report of death. The cumulative number of deaths was 365, it added.
The recovery rate of the state improved to 97.06% with the discharge of 46 patients over the last 24 hours. The rate was 97.01% the previous day (Sunday).

The cumulative number of positive cases of the state stood at 28,693 on Monday. The number included 3,396 CAPF personnel.

Among them 27,851 including 3,366 CAPF personnel were recoveries and 477 including 26 CAPF were active cases, as per the release.
