As per the state government’s directive to conduct random house to house Covid-19 testing, Noney district on Saturday began Covid testing and contact tracing activity.

On the first day, mobile medical team led by Dr Thaimei Gairanlung, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), Noney carried out Covid-19 testing at Khumji Part -4. At least 10 households were covered and over 20 people were tested in the drive.

So far there was no report of positive case detection from the test drive. At least two people from a family with often maximum movement outdoors within the family will be tested. Testing will continue on Sunday at Lubanglong and Taodaijang Village, source said.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh Friday announced that health officials would visit every household and conduct random COVID-19 testing of atleast one member of the family. N Biren Singh further stated that if one person of a family was infected then all the family members would also be tested.
