Noney: The Senapati District Badminton Association (SDBA) won the overall championship in the recently concluded 1st Naga Hill Districts Badminton Tournament, held at Longmai, Noney district headquarters, from October 29 till November 2, 2024.

The tournament featured categories such as U-15 Boys & Girls, U-19 Boys & Girls, Men’s Open, Women’s Open, and Veteran divisions for Men’s Singles/Doubles in the 35+, 40+, 45+, 50+, 55+, 60+, and 65+ age groups.
SDBA secured 14 gold medals and 8 silver medals across various categories. Tamenglong followed with 8 gold and 4 silver medals, Chandel with 2 gold and 4 silver, Ukhrul with no gold but 2 silver, and Noney, the host team, concluded with 2 silver medals.
The tournament’s most challenging category, the Men’s Open Singles, was won by Pfoki Liruna of SDBA, who also claimed victory in the Men’s Open Doubles with his partner, Elow Kaje, also of SDBA.
