NPF Conducts Shamator Division Installation, Oath-Taking Ceremony

SHAMATOR: The Naga People’s Front (NPF) on Friday formally conducted the installation and oath-taking ceremony of its Shamator division office bearers for the 2025–2030 tenure at the Cultural Hall, Shamator town in Nagaland. 

The programme was held alongside a consultative meeting, marking a significant organisational milestone for the party in the newly created district.

Senior leaders from the NPF Central Headquarters, Kohima, attended the event, underscoring the party’s commitment to strengthening its grassroots presence. 

The ceremony began with an opening prayer led by Shophu, Pastor of DEF Shamator, followed by a welcome address by Tokiu, president of NPF Shamator division.

The oath of office was administered to the newly appointed Shamator Division office bearers by M Rukkimong, senior vice president (Central) and in-charge of Shamator division. Several central office bearers representing Shamator Division were present, including Obed Quinker, general secretary (Central); K Yimso, general secretary (Central); T Kekongchim, vice president (Central); Rukkimong, senior vice president; and H Mukam, co-convenor of the Legal Cell (Central). Representatives from the Youth Wing, Women Wing, and Farmers Wing also attended.

The programme featured a series of short speeches by senior leaders, who highlighted party unity, organisational discipline, and the importance of inclusive leadership at the divisional level. Speakers urged the newly inducted office bearers to work diligently for the welfare of the people and to strengthen democratic values at the grassroots.

A key address was delivered by S. Keoshu Yimkhiung, advisor, Youth Resources and Sports (YRS), who emphasised the role of political leadership in guiding youth development and regional progress.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Chilula, president of the NPF Women Wing, Shamator division, followed by a benediction.

Party leaders described the installation ceremony as a renewed commitment by the NPF to serve the people of Shamator with integrity, unity, and vision in the years ahead.
