NPO Highlights Electoral Roll Accuracy as Cornerstone of Democratic Process

SENAPATI: The Naga People’s Organisation (NPO) has appealed to all Village Authorities and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of respective villages under Senapati district to commence with their responsibilities ‘sincerely and diligently’ with regards to the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Electoral Rolls.

The enumeration phase which began on May 30 will continue until June 28. The Naga People’s Organisation has instructed for all Enumeration Forms to be duly filled, signed by the elector and submitted back to the BLOs concerned.

Referring to the general public as the most important stakeholders, the organisation highlighted that the SIR aims to ensure accuracy, inclusiveness and integrity of the electoral rolls. NPO has requested all the citizens of the district to extend their cooperation and possible assistance to the BLO during house visits.

The NPO has emphasized on the procedures to be conducted with transparency and fairness. It has noted that maintaining an accurate and comprehensive electoral roll is not only beneficial to the citizens but it also strengthens democratic processes.
