NSCN Cautions against ‘Smear Campaign’ against Longvibu; Directs Contractors to shun ‘Unethical Practices’

Ukhrul, April 3: In a note to the general public, the Naga Army General HQ on Wednesday informed to “all concerned to desist oneself from giving unwarranted comments/statements related to functioning and formation of Naga Army. The recent spate of wild accusations and smear campaign against the Longvibu is considered nothing less than insult to the whole Naga Army which therefore stands condemned in the strongest sense. It is hereby warned that such unethical and slanderous acts shall not be tolerated.”

In another directive issued on April 3, the NSCN/GPRN stated it has come to the knowledge of the NSCN/GPRN about the unethical practice that prevailed where contractors or contracting firms are indulging in bidding below the schedule rate of quotations.”

The directive noted that the quality of the developmental works is significantly getting compromised.

“Decision thereof has been taken by the Joint Council of NSCN/GPRN last year dated 1st October, 2024, in this respect where concerned ministries/departments and CAOs are directed to strictly check/ monitor the contractors/contracting firms. Keeping in view the seriousness of the issue that involved public interest/welfare, this directive is issued again for strict compliance that no recommendation of work order below the actual rate quoted in the tender work should be given out within Nagalim,” added the directive.
