Ukhrul, September 25: The National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) said it is shocked and appalled by a viral Facebook post made by one WJ Longkumer in the group “Unified Naga Land For Christ.” The post, the NSCN stated, crossed the boundaries of civilized society as it used highly vulgar and profane language against Prof. Rosemary Dzuvichu for standing up for women’s democratic and human rights.

In a clarification, the NSCN said that such language goes far beyond a mere personal insult, constituting a direct attack on women’s dignity, modesty, and character. It added that derogatory slurs and abusive language against women are unacceptable in today’s world, particularly in Naga society.

The NSCN further maintained that WJ Longkumer “shamelessly tried to connect himself as a member of NSCN,” and clarified that the accused, who is currently in police custody, “is in no way connected to NSCN in any manner whatsoever.”

The press release added, “For his recklessness in attempting to bring NSCN into disrepute, we shall consider it necessary to deal with him in a befitting manner.”
