NSCN-IM clarifies on the arrest of Anong Singpho by AR at Arunachal

The National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) on Wednesday clarified that Mr Anong Singpho alias Nongpion who was arrested in Arunachal Pradesh by the 19th Assam Rifles on May 8, 2021 as a “proclaimed deserter/absconder.”

Nongpion, S/o Lukhula Singpho of Inthem village under Pengree PO/PS in Tinsukia district of Upper Assam was captured under Nampong Police station at Therimkhan village.

The NSCN-IM press statement pointed out that the absconding cadre “failed to rejoin duty after the expiry of his leave and he was served ‘Warrant of Arrest’ on March 5, 2021 by the Naga Army.”

The group further expressed their regret that the “proclaimed deserter has been a source of nuisance to the Singpho leaders.”
